What others say......

I first encountered the wonderful music created by Outland during a rehearsal at Colchester Arts Centre. An Outland performance re-creates the intimate atmosphere, of happening upon that first rehearsal. Their seamless blend of interpretation and personal composition pieces, take the audience on a reflective journey, delivered with a sense of warmth and empathy few artists achieve.

OUTLAND is one of those rare groups of musicians who can capture a mood, enclose their audience within it, sweep them up in a wave of sound and then lead them on somewhere completely different. But the transition is so smooth, even though the notes can be jagged where necessary that the listener is left poised on the edge of the seat in real anticipation of the next treat to come. Their concert at Little Totham was a great event one of the highlights of our musical year.

"We were so impressed we had to buy them," so to speak. After seeing the band at the Henry Moore Foundation last year we just had to hear more. We packed 73 people into our home for a fantastic evening of chilled music that was received enthusiastically by all. The band work so tightly together and produce sounds that are sweet on the ear and sharp on style. Can't give more of a compliment by saying that we've booked them again for a summer date. Now please bring out that CD lads!

The concert by Outland in our Freshers Week was a great start to our series of events for the new Academic Year. These talented musicians perform a wide range of pieces in many different musical styles so that there is "something for everyone".

OutLand played to a full house of 200+ at Danbury Mission and the surprisingly mellow combination of sax, trumpet, cello and guitar proved to be a big hit with the audience. We look forward to their return.

Outland’s unique contemporary style blending jazz, world-folk and classical music gently eased our audience into the festive season. Due to popular demand an extra night was added and both evenings were received with great enthusiasm. We look forward to the opportunity of welcoming them back for future events.
